Thank you for visiting the Florida Humanities Council’s (FHC) on-line store. The privacy of our website visitors including members, donors and friends is of extreme importance to us. We would like all visitors to know that FHC does not collect personal information about you unless it is provided by you.

Please note that when you purchase merchandise and/or a membership on-line, you exit the FHC website, www.flahum.org, and enter the site of our store merchant “Yahoo Store”. Yahoo! hosts the store pages, ordering system and order data. Yahoo! automatically collects order information but may only use this information in the aggregate. If you accessed this store through Yahoo! Shopping, Yahoo! also automatically collects information about your shopping experience. Please see the Yahoo! What Information Is Collected
As part of the order process for merchandise and/or memberships, the following information is collected:
Name
Organization name (if applicable)
Shipping / Billing Address
Phone number
Credit / debit card information
Email address

This is the same information that is collected when orders are placed by phone or mail.

How That Information Is Used
When you purchase merchandise or a membership on-line through the store, FHC will request information from you necessary to process your transaction. Your credit card information will only be used for the purpose of processing and documenting the transaction and/or to acknowledge your membership contribution. We will not share, rent or sell your credit card information with third parties.

Personal data collected for membership transactions may be shared with reputable organizations such as other nonprofits and cultural organizations which have a relationship with FHC. FHC may also use your personal data to notify you via postal and/or electronic mail of Council sponsored activities or of special offers related to the on-line store.

By providing your email address, you are choosing to be added to FHC's electronic mailing list.

Children 12 Years Old and Under
Please note that FHC’s on-line store and the FHC website, www.flahum.org,  are not specifically dedicated to children and FHC does not actively solicit information from children. Children under the age of 12 are required to obtain permission from an adult before submitting information to the site.

Site Security
The Florida Humanities Council makes every reasonable effort to ensure that all of the transactions that occur on our website are secure. All credit card numbers submitted to the site are encrypted using “Secure Socket Layer” (SSL) encryption. SSL is an industry standard for protecting sensitive information as it is transmitted over the Internet.
